Visit to IWMI Water Management Research Farm, Renala Khurd, Okara

SACAN team held a productive meeting with representatives at the IWMI (International Water Management Institute) office in Okara, Renala Khurd. The discussion centered around IWMI’s ongoing initiatives under the Water Resource Accountability Programme (WRAP), particularly their efforts in promoting water-efficient agricultural practices and empowering women in rural communities. The IWMI team shared valuable insights into the use of innovative technologies such as soil moisture sensors, drip irrigation systems, and rainwater harvesting, as well as their capacity-building programs targeted at female farmers. This exchange provided a strong foundation for potential collaboration and knowledge sharing, highlighting clear synergies between IWMI’s objectives and SACAN’s Climate-Resilient and Adaptive Water Allocation Project.
